Sanitation
The Petersburg Borough Sanitation Department operates the community’s solid waste baling facility and landfill. Municipal solid waste is collected by the utility, baled, and shipped to the Roosevelt Regional Landfill in Washington State. Wood products and metals are processed within the Petersburg landfill. Collection service is available to all residents of Petersburg and also to some areas outside of the Service Area One limits.
